We work throughout the whole country in several departments, where the incidence of poverty is at the highest level, providing conditions, upstarting, developments, and promoting hard work, values, and a steady growth. If any national emergency arise, this organization s perfectly capable of handle the volunteer everywhere in the nation.
This placement needs Volunteer because:
1. Especial resources in certain technical areas are very expensive and limited. 2. We work on a very tight budget, that doesn’t allow us to hire additional qualified personnel such as doctors, water treatment specialist and others. 3. Technical infrastructure in the country is limited to a few centre in Managua, and it will turn out to be highly expensive for us to handle the cost of education and boarding school.
Volunteers can assist by doing following tasks:-
For this specific placement we need a graduate doctor, that could be able to contribute with his/her knowledge and developing skills in different working areas regarding medical knowledge, it is very important for us to keep a continuation to a previous volunteer whenever he/she are ready to leave. That is why one of our requirement is to have a volunteer on service with us for at least 8 months. Volunteers must be of age 24 or above with minimum education of Post graduation.
Volunteers with the following special skills are preferred for the placement:-
Doctor Standard First-Aid Health & Hygiene Training HIV/AIDS Awareness Training Public Health Sexual & Reproductive Health Training Wilderness First-Aid

This hospial provide health and medication for patients, according to their illness or needs that any given patient may have at the moment. We have an emergency room for the different treatments that any population may request, we attend anything from minor surgery, to major surgery, seriously illnesses and wounds, women in labor, c-sections, newborns, people involve in serious accidents, orthopedic, infectious diseases etc.. As any hospital work, we work 24 hour, doctors pay a morning visit and an evening visit to our patients who are hospitalized, and there are at least one to two nurses in the wind all the time. Volunteers are needed to assist the staff with various daily tasks that they are developing. This is an excellent placement for pre-med and nursing students, where they will be able to witness a operations and surgeries. It is an opportunity for volunteers to learn how to assist in simple treatment of patients and futhermore to witness medical techniques and learn how health care systems function in a developing country.
Volunteers can assist by doing following tasks:- People with high aptitude of service, and are responsible and willing to work with the spirit of cooperation with our staff. Volunteers must be of age 20 or above with minimum education of undergraduation.

What is the purpose of this organization? San Jose Hospital provides health care and medication for patients in response to their unique needs and various illnesses. We have an emergency room that provides a variety of different treatments: from minor to major surgery, treating serious injuries, treatment of infectious diseases, pre- and post-natal care for both women and newborns, orthopedics, etc. The hospital operates on a 24-hour schedule. Doctors pay a visit our patients once in the morning and once in the afternoon, and there are at least two nurses on the wing at all times.
What community(s) does this organization assist? We serve several communities in the Carazo deparment. Just to mention a few: Caseres, La Boquita, La Trinidad, Buena Vista, San Gregorio, Veracruz de Acayo, Tupilapa, and Huehuete. People also come to San Jose Hospital from other departments.

ASVO is a non-profit NGO which places volunteers in Costa Rica’s national parks and protected areas. ASVO’s objective is to improve the conditions and amount of volunteer work performed at a national and international level. ASVO places volunteers in national parks and other areas protected by the Ministry of Environment and Energy all over the country.
Volunteers must be of age 18 or above with minimum education of high school. Volunteers with the following special skills are preferred for the placement:-
Standard First-Aid Forestry Environmental Science Biology Data Collection Renewable Energy Statistics Organic Chemistry Swim Kayaking Wilderness First-Aid Hiking
Volunteers can assist by doing following tasks:-
1. Repair and maintenance of the entrance road to the sector Estación Biológica San Miguel. This work is difficult, involving moving rocks to refill the road. Some portions of the road will also use cement. 2. Repair of trails for vistors to the Puesto de Cabuya. Work here is also hard and volunteers must walk 3 kilometers every day. The work indcludes making drainpipes, fixing and building bridges. 3. Maintenance of the bridge at the entrance to the Administration Area. This bridge is located along a sharp bend and every year rocks must be moved so that the water does not harm the bridge. 4. Painting the tourist information post and the employee house. 5. Planting of native plants, maintenance of green areas, and reparation of trails. 6. Construction of the new volunteer house in the Cabuya sector. 7. Assisting at the park entrance.
